I wanted to find out which backlink indexing strategies work.
So I tested 14 popular indexing methods – but only 3 actually indexed URLs .
You see:
I built a script that automatically generated 200 pages of junk lorem ipsum content on 15 brand new domains:
Here’s an example of what each of the 200 pages looked like after it had been generated by the script:
As you can see, it’s complete spam and each page has 300 words of lorem ipsum content on a brand new domain but zero:
Absolutely nothing!
The idea was to generate the worst possible pages and see which indexers could get Google to crawl AND index the content.
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE TESTING SCRIPT
Then:
We took all 200 URLs of junk content from the 15 domains and submitted them to different backlink indexers.
This is how we measured the results:
What Will I Learn?
Here is a quick overview of all the data at the end of the test on day 14.
During the test, we only saw visits from Google’s mobile crawler, so we have removed references to that in the data below for simplification.
All of GoogleBots’ visits came from their mobile crawler.
Indexing Service | GoogleBot Visited? |
Indexed in Google? |
Final Index Rate (%) |
---|---|---|---|
Elite Link Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
GIndex | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Google Tools | 200 | 0 | 0% |
GSA Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Indexification | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Indexing Expert | 200 | 199 | 99.5% |
IndexInject | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Instant Link Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Lindexed | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Link Processor | 0 | 0 | 0% |
OmegaIndexer | 181 | 177 | 88.5% |
OneHourIndexing | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Pinging | 0 | 0 | 0% |
SpeedLinks VIP | 145 | 145 | 72.5% |
Control | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Interestingly submitting the urls to Google’s own tools (pagespeed, rich results, mobile friendly) triggered the Googlebot to visit and crawl all the pages.
However none of them were indexed using Googles own tools.
Ultimately there were 3 tools that stood out:
Out of the 14 indexing methods we tested, only 4 of them brought Google’s bots and only 3 of them actually indexed URL’s.
If you would like to run your own indexing test please feel free to download the script we built here.
Don’t forget:
You can see the full test data here.
There are tons of indexing methods, tools and services out there. But we only wanted to test the most popular ones.
Here is a look at the best services and tricks for getting your news links indexed as quickly as possible.
Elite Link Indexer is a premium backlink indexing service.
It is considered by many to be the best available. Our results proved different. Elite Link Indexer works by automatically pinging your URLs and links from other sites until Google notices them. Their advanced algorithm monitors each link you submit and gives you real-time reporting.
GIndex is another popular link indexing service that helps you get your backlinks indexed quickly.
GIndex also provides real-time reporting on each link submitted, so you can track its success. The unique GIndex algorithm monitors each link you submit for any changes or updates. This helps ensure that your links are indexed properly and correctly.
GSA Indexer takes a slightly different approach to backlink indexing.
Load a file of URLs into the GSA Indexer and the tool will automatically submit them one after the other in quick succession. You can also ask GSA Indexer to monitor files for any new URLs that appear and index them immediately. GSA Indexer does have an old-school user interface that will take a minute to get used to.
Indexification is a mass link indexer for those who need a lot of backlinks or URLs indexed quickly.
They have a unique method of indexing that focuses more on getting Googlebot to crawl a URL. Once Google has crawled a URL, the next logical step is for them to automatically index that URL.
Indexing Expert is an innovative service with an excellent track record.
They use a secret process to give your URLs every chance of being found and indexed correctly. They also have effective and fast technology, meaning links can be indexed in less than an hour.
Think of IndexInject as the ultimate hybrid between an indexing service and an indexing tool.
Unlike other indexing tools and services, IndexInject allows you to control the extent of link indexing.
You can limit the number of URLs you submit, customise your submission schedule and even monitor changes for updates to be indexed quickly.
Instant Link Indexer is a simplified indexing service.
Their unique point is “set and forget”. Upload your links and URLs that you want to be indexed and let Instant Link Indexer go to work. They index a range of content, from backlinks to blog comments and more.
Lindexed uses its own unique indexing process to get Google to take notice of your links.
The 5-step process works on 15-day cycles using popular indexing methods, including RSS feeds, sitemaps, and pinging. Linkexed also uses their own cloud-based pinging software to individually ping your links from servers worldwide.
Link Processor is a full-automated online link indexing service.
The big thing that makes Link Processor stand out from the rest is infrastructure. They have big servers located all over the world, which speeds up the time it takes to process and submit each of your links to search engines.
Omega Indexer is one of the most premium indexing services around.
They have a talented team of developers who have continued improving their services, even as Google’s algorithm has changed. They use safe and authoritative sources to index your links and the results speak for themselves.
OneHourIndexing is just what the name says.
They claim to be able to get backlinks and URLs indexed in as little as one hour. It’s a fully automated service where you simply copy and paste your backlinks into their backend tool, and OneHourIndexing will drip-feed them out.
Pinging is the most simplified, completely free backlink indexing tool available.
It is owned and developed by Small SEO Tools. You just paste in your backlinks, and the tool will ping each of them automatically. While pinging a link is just one method for link indexing, it is fast and free.
SpeedLinks VIP might be the most underrated backlink indexing service around.
They offer good value for money on all of their packages and have proven themselves to be effective at getting results. They also have a range of plans available to suit both small and large websites.
Now that you have an introduction to the different link indexing services…
What are the best backlink indexers overall?
Ultimately there were 3 tools that stood out:
These were the only services that triggered both a visit from Google and the actual indexing of the junk lorem ipsum pages we built.
NONE OF THE OTHER TESTED SERVICES TRIGGERED A SINGLE VISIT FROM GOOGLEBOT
Interestingly using Google’s own tools did trigger visits from Googlebot, but resulted in a 0% indexing rate. Perhaps if the pages were not junk lorem ipsum text they might have gotten indexed.
If you want to run your own indexing test you can download the script here.
All you have to do is:
We are not offering any support for this script so please take it as is and use it to conduct your own testing.
And don’t forget you can see all of the data from our test here.
If you’ve got any questions please leave a comment below and if you are fed up with fighting to get your links indexed, take a look at my recommend link building services or link building packages that only build the type of links that Google loves.

In Just 28 Days…
That’s a big relief to me to know that ping are waste of time……now i shall never look back to ping anything….Do you have any idea or hint what “OneHourIndexing” do for indexing our backlinks…..and i also read your “Ranking For Rand Fishkin” There you used service (“Link Pipeline and Linklicious and mentioned that “Most of my Tier 1 backlinks were indexed the same day that they were made, and the maximum it took was 4 days.”)So Link Pipeline and Linklicious are similar to “OneHourIndexing” Anyway that’s article taught me something new. Thanks
Hi,I don’t know what they do sorry.I didn’t write the other article your referring to.
Matthew that is really awesome case study. Thanks for sharing such a valuable and useful information dude.
No worrys 🙂
Matthew, thanks. There’s always a golden nugget here and I’ve learned a lot from your previous posts. Thanks for letting us know which link indexer service sucks and which ones work.
Hope it helps!
Nice Post matt, Is there any free and working site that can index backlinks.
Well, PingFarm – but it doesnt work so well ^^
hey Matt, you forgot about InstantLinkIndexer… Have you tried that one? A bit more expensive than OneHourIndexing though. Great post!
I havent sorry
Wow… interesting content Matt. Thanks for sharing this. Never heard of OneHour Indexing before… well I’m gonna sign up now. Btw, what do you think of using Article Builder by Jon Leger instead of spun articles ? Is it a good product ?
I haven’t used it sorry
Very very good article Mat, thanks for it!This just proves my own theory i am doing pretty well at Indexification and i better stick with it! The results at all these new “rapid” indexers aren’t that better to deserve that high pricingbut what wonders me is that your indexing rates at all indexers in the case study are really really bad Matt, just the Control group looks ok to me as it is really important nowadays to do something about indexing the backlinks, otherwise they are just a lost effort
I expected them to be bad purely because I used the worst quality/duplicate/junk content on the worst quality sites.I figured if an indexing service could get something like that indexed today – then its good to go 🙂
Either social media or linking it to some blogger sites with high page rank. What do you think?
Pretty good job Matthew, thanks for the awesome case study!I am quite happy myself for the 17 bucks I pay at Indexification since an year alreadyOneHourIndexing looks good imho, but as looking at your final indexing rates report at day 15 it doesn’t look to be worth 4 times the price of Indexification. The final results are the important ones!I’d better stick with what I am happy with
While it may be 4 times the price, it does give double the results. And when you put that in actual money terms its not much money to invest to double your indexing performance.
Just to put a fine point on it…Unless you’re using the max daily links at Indexification, One Hour Indexing will get you double the results for the same amount of money. Very few people use the max daily links at our service, and I assume it’d be the same there.
I took a look at Onehourindexing before a while and I am now just happy i didn’t wasted my money there. What is their “onehour” when in your results it shows that within the 1st day only ~10% links have been indexed??For the money they ask, all rest indexers in the case study have alike results for the 1st day!
Well day 1 is immediately after they were submitted, and I mean like – immediately after.
Haven’t tried them
Why didn’t you use GSA indexer?
Seems stupid I didn’t include that given I used GSA to build the links – sure a followup can be done 🙂
Hey Matt,Working on a bit of a budget as for now, so PingFarm is the one for me for the time being. OneHourIndexing looks good to me for the future. Will most likely start off with the $17 for 1000 links to start off with.Once again, Thanks for the info again. Keep up the good work mate.
Good luck 🙂
Matthew didn’t cover this directly, but Ping Farm actually doesn’t even ping. You can open up a Javascript debugging console on it and see that it gives errors. The way it was designed, browser security permissions forbid it from working. And obviously the indexing results show that it doesn’t help that metric either. 🙂
Why did you choose to verify indexed pages with Scrapebox instead of just using site:_____.com or the Google webmaster tools? It sure is less time consuming with the latter.
Takes 10 seconds to set Scrapebox up, then I sleep 🙂
Matthew, I am following your blog from long time and I have learnt alot from You! With all my due respect I am kinda disappointed from You this time and I am sure You probably won’t even approve and publish my comment, but I wanted to share my thoughts with youThis case study looks like a clear promotion for Onehourindexing and everybody around that knows these indexers will tell you the same!Let me tell you why… All the indexing services You used for this case study are from 2011-2012 and all they use similar old indexing techniques, while Onehourindexing just popped up (Q4 2013 ~ Q1 2014) along with few others indexers from new generation that provide ultra fast and better results than all old ones. So, you are comparing new generation indexer with indexers 2-3 years old. It is really not a plausible case study at allWhy don’t you made the comparison with Linklicious.co instead? It is owned by same guys running Onehourindexing and is from 2011-2012 as all other indexers in the case study.. Or why you didn’t include any from the other new generation indexers? I am pretty sure you know their names..Thank You for your time!
Hi,I selected the biggest/most popular services in forums to test so it would be relevant to as many people as possible.Happy to include others in a follow up!
Hi Matt, great review. A couple thoughts though:1. Since using GSA SER, why not include GSA SEO Indexer (one time payment) in the group? Would have been very interesting to see how it stacked up against the monthly service options.2. Also noticed no inclusion of any of the newer “rapid” index services like Incredible Indexer, Express Indexer (both have GSA API) and Nuclear Link Indexer. Frankly, when I saw the title of the article, I was expecting an “old vs new” rather than a comparison a few very similar options. Anyway, great read as always.
Hi,I’m happy to take suggestions on others for a follow up!
A friend of mine was talking about Onehourindexing some times ago but I never try such services. Even cause this could be a great tool for some projects. What amazes me is that you could rank some cheap content in short term period. ….Ahh, this reminds for website flippers :)I appeciate your casestudy. You are always prepared to show us something different.
No worrys!
Great post as always Matt. I would have loved to see Backlinksindexer added to the comparison. Heck, I’d be willing to even let you use my account to test.
Happy to look at others in the future!
Hey Clint -There was another study that prompted this “official” one that has Backlinks Indexer in it. It didn’t fare any better:http://visitmetrix.com/2014/03/a-detailed-backlink-indexing-case-study/
This was an excellent test. Nice run through with a unbiased opinion. I like you going and testing all these backlink index services.
Let me know how you get on!
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I’m running a few interesting case studies myself 🙂 will share shoon.
Give me a shout when you do!
As usual, another informative piece of SEO info! Thank you Matthew. I’ve started testing out Scrapebox’s rapid index add-on. It’s been 2 days with low returns so far. I take it that it is not very effective since you didn’t include. Appreciated.
Nahh its not worth your time
Hi, Nice post Matt (Not Matt Cutt right ?),I really enjoy and learn something about backlinking here..and of course I subscribe to your post…thanks.
Thanks!
Defintelly the proof is in the pudding on this one!Thank you Matt for the review… Even been a sponsored post, you can’t ignore the results at the end of the day.I love your “I’ll test it or I won’t post sh*t” approach 😀
I’m sure Justin will tell you what a pain in the arse I am to work with
Great post! I was just working on a site that needs thousands of pages indexed. I decided on Linklicious though. Too bad that wasn’t on the list.
Sorry!
Thanks for using Linklicious – it’s best for Google awareness and cheaper than One Hour Indexing. That said, indexing pages of a site is a slightly different animal. It’ll be impacted by a few factors:- Site strength/authority – Google gives strong sites more backlinks indexed- Site speed – This is a major factor in determining crawl rate across your site- Page uniqueness – Google won’t index dupe or thin content very well.Good luck!
If the OneHourIndexing guys don’t use pinging, RSS, or link building then they must use social media. Otherwise my mind = blown.
Yeah I’m not sure myself = They won’t tell!
Great information, Matt! With this analysis I will save a lot of valuable time;-)Thanks for the info.
Thanks 🙂
I’m glad you wrote this article, I’ve been looking for a good indexing service for a long time.
Enjoy =D
Interesting study, however I would be interested more in a blind study where the OneHourBacklinks team is not aware of your account or links. While I doubt they actually did it, it is very possible they gave special attention to the links in your project to ensure indexing as they know how powerful a good review of their service on your blog would be for business.
That is possible – but equally doesn’t excuse the performance of the others.
I’ve heard that indexing your backlinks is just a big red flag for Google Matt, what do you think?
I don’t see why it would be – unless it was a really spammy junky link
Nice study on link indexing. I know there are many services out there, but I would be interested to see how Instant Link Indexer (http://www.instantlinkindexer.com/) Stacks up against one hour and indexification etc. Nice post and you are right if your links are not getting indexed, you re wasting your time…
Will give them a shot!
I have tried both and I am happier at InstantLinkIndexer, not just for the better and faster results, but and for the prices and first class support. I needed few times to contact InstantLinkIndexer’s support due to billing issues and I got replies in minutes!I am still with them though 🙂
Hey Matt – Very interesting results. I was surprised that some of the services actually had worse results compared to the control group. Am I reading that wrong? If not, why do you think that is?Thanks
Just using outdated methods
I find that submitting to Google Plus indexes links very quickly.
How would you scale that to 1,000 links?
Great study! i wonder why you didn’t include Instant Link Indexer? as it is the only premium indexer to compete with one hour indexing, That would be more interesting to be honest 😀 Regards, Peter from BHW.
Will include them next time 🙂
Hey Matthew,Thanks for sharing this case study. Looks good.Hmm…question. how abouy GSA SEO indexer? Curious! On the lighter note, love your epic cade studies. Keep it up!
Thanks! Will bring GSA into play for the next test!
As I mentioned in a comment above, GSA Indexer uses whois/stat site links as well as pinging the links. You won’t see much indexing improvement over not doing anything with that approach. I’d be surprised to see a 1 or 2% increase due to the pinging. Whois/stat site links won’t help at all.Give it a test yourself and see what happens!
Thanks Matthew, great post. Pingfarm works great for me, sometimes I use Indexification too.
Pinging died a few years ago
Hi Matthew,Great case study. Indexing site fast and properly in very important. I agree that onehourindexing is a great, but indexification is another a great choice for beginners and works great for me. 🙂
Thanks!
hi nikhil would wanted to know the sucess rate of indexification.. and one hour indexing guarentees the index rate in one hour?? please help me to buy the cheapest and best indexing service i need to index some 5000 backlinks
Man, you know when to post the stuff just when I need it :DCan you give your thoughts on these ones as well (if you used them or have a buddy who did):Instant link indexer (claimed 50% indexing rate withing 10-30 min)Link centaur ($9/mo for 15k links/d)Cheers
Thoughts are meaningless, data is what counts here. I don’t have the data sorry
Thanks for taking the time to do the case study. It’s great to see a review of the various indexing services.Kinda scary to see that a couple of these can actually hurt your indexing.
No worrys
Hi Matt,I have used this service when they first launched it and it gave me a 60% index within 10 minutes of submitting. Anyone here knows if this works well?? http://www.instantlinkindexer.com/
Sorry 45% Boost not 60%
Hie Matt,Thanks for this post I was deciding on which service to buy for indexing since my index rate is very poor and got a mail with link to this article, glad I read it. I don’t think I’ll need 50,000 links a day plan , I won’t even need 1000 links so I think it will be best to go with One hour Indexing since Indexification and One Hour Indexing both come at same price just different link submission per day
Let me know how it goes
how about GSA Indexer? Do you have any result about this service?
I don’t sorry
Excellent information.I am somewhat new to the SEO world, and these blog posts have been helping me a lot. I’m actually considering buying your premium tutorial on the topic. I’m looking for the most detailed and accurate course available – the kind of thing that leaves no stone unturned. Yours seems like the best bet. It sounds very comprehensive, but just to be sure: does it contain absolutely everything I need to know to be successful when ranking sites?
Hey Matt, Great article on backlink indexing. Thanks for sharing your experience on indexing the crap content based backlinks.
Thought that would be the best test for them!
Thanks for this Matt,I was actually looking into how to speed up and improve indexing rates earlier today. One hour indexing was looking good, I was just a bit weary of their bold claims. Looks like its legit after reading your test. Gonna give it a try and see if it helps speed up indexing.
Let me know!
Good review! Though, I haven’t used a link indexing service before, but surely your post will save money of a bunch of people on this planet from now.
Hopefully so!
Finally I can get the honest review about index backlink service.Thank you MattMichael
Thanks!
Never trusted any indexing service. First thing I think of when it comes to Lindexed is a Fiverr type gig “For a bonus I will add all of your 1000 Pligg backlinks to Lindexed, which will skyrocket you to top of the Google”.
You can apply that theory to anything online – then you would never do anything!
Great one matt.So the control group had more link indexed without using any service!!!Lindexed’s shit.I though they were great but not after reading this post. (y)
That was the case here!
Hi Matthew,Very useful experiment, but what do you think about GSA indexer? Is it useful? I tried it and find it useful. Regards,Rajesh
What have you done to measure its effectiveness?
GSA indexer works by doing two things:- pinging the links (without tracking crawls and repinging)- running the links through whois/stat/redirect style linksWhile this will improve indexing over baseline, I’m 100% positive that it won’t get results anywhere near an indexing service. It would have been a good test case for this study just to finally kill this as a viable option. I’d say run your own test with a batch of links. One uses the GSA indexer and the other one doesn’t. See if the two aren’t within 1 or 2% of each other.
You such a sneaky c**t. with all those affiliate links, i don’t believe a f*****g word you say – and those that do, well they c***s too.Karma is a bad thing and it will get you eventually. when you write articles about opinion, you give your best opinion through integrity and honesty. all you write about tricking people into clicking on those f****g links. and you are greedy.amazing how the best service above pays you an affiliate fee. the internet WAS supposed to be about information like wikipedia – not sneaky f****g c***s like you trying to trick people.go f**k your self
Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with https://searchlogistics.com/advertise-on-the-blog/ Anyone buying a sponsored post risks getting a bad rap. If they came 3rd, I would have published that – but they didn’t.In fact, Justin is the first guy to commit to that. You would be amazed how many service providers have contacted me for a sponsored review, but when I explain that if they perform badly in the test I will publish that without refund – I never hear from them again. So kudos to Justin for actually believing in what he is saying and putting his money where his mouth is. All a sponsored post does is buy my time to test something. If its awesome or sucks is out of my control – thats what data is for.The rules also state I will use affilaite links where an affiliate program is available. Not every service in the test had an affiliate program available. The source data is there for you to download for yourself and review!Karma is a great thing my anonymous keyboard warrior!
That guy is a loser.Don’t most sites get indexed by Google eventually anyway if you are creating links for them and submitting via Google Webmaster Tools?
Someone needs a hug :p
Looks like somebody here did not like what they say about their company, are you from Lindexed or PingFarm ???
