I wanted to find out which backlink indexing strategies work.
So I tested 14 popular indexing methods – but only 3 actually indexed URLs .
You see:
I built a script that automatically generated 200 pages of junk lorem ipsum content on 15 brand new domains:
Here’s an example of what each of the 200 pages looked like after it had been generated by the script:
As you can see, it’s complete spam and each page has 300 words of lorem ipsum content on a brand new domain but zero:
Absolutely nothing!
The idea was to generate the worst possible pages and see which indexers could get Google to crawl AND index the content.
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE TESTING SCRIPT
Then:
We took all 200 URLs of junk content from the 15 domains and submitted them to different backlink indexers.
This is how we measured the results:
What Will I Learn?
Here is a quick overview of all the data at the end of the test on day 14.
During the test, we only saw visits from Google’s mobile crawler, so we have removed references to that in the data below for simplification.
All of GoogleBots’ visits came from their mobile crawler.
Indexing Service | GoogleBot Visited? |
Indexed in Google? |
Final Index Rate (%) |
---|---|---|---|
Elite Link Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
GIndex | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Google Tools | 200 | 0 | 0% |
GSA Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Indexification | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Indexing Expert | 200 | 199 | 99.5% |
IndexInject | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Instant Link Indexer | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Lindexed | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Link Processor | 0 | 0 | 0% |
OmegaIndexer | 181 | 177 | 88.5% |
OneHourIndexing | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Pinging | 0 | 0 | 0% |
SpeedLinks VIP | 145 | 145 | 72.5% |
Control | 0 | 0 | 0% |
Interestingly submitting the urls to Google’s own tools (pagespeed, rich results, mobile friendly) triggered the Googlebot to visit and crawl all the pages.
However none of them were indexed using Googles own tools.
Ultimately there were 3 tools that stood out:
Out of the 14 indexing methods we tested, only 4 of them brought Google’s bots and only 3 of them actually indexed URL’s.
If you would like to run your own indexing test please feel free to download the script we built here.
Don’t forget:
You can see the full test data here.
There are tons of indexing methods, tools and services out there. But we only wanted to test the most popular ones.
Here is a look at the best services and tricks for getting your news links indexed as quickly as possible.
Elite Link Indexer is a premium backlink indexing service.
It is considered by many to be the best available. Our results proved different. Elite Link Indexer works by automatically pinging your URLs and links from other sites until Google notices them. Their advanced algorithm monitors each link you submit and gives you real-time reporting.
GIndex is another popular link indexing service that helps you get your backlinks indexed quickly.
GIndex also provides real-time reporting on each link submitted, so you can track its success. The unique GIndex algorithm monitors each link you submit for any changes or updates. This helps ensure that your links are indexed properly and correctly.
GSA Indexer takes a slightly different approach to backlink indexing.
Load a file of URLs into the GSA Indexer and the tool will automatically submit them one after the other in quick succession. You can also ask GSA Indexer to monitor files for any new URLs that appear and index them immediately. GSA Indexer does have an old-school user interface that will take a minute to get used to.
Indexification is a mass link indexer for those who need a lot of backlinks or URLs indexed quickly.
They have a unique method of indexing that focuses more on getting Googlebot to crawl a URL. Once Google has crawled a URL, the next logical step is for them to automatically index that URL.
Indexing Expert is an innovative service with an excellent track record.
They use a secret process to give your URLs every chance of being found and indexed correctly. They also have effective and fast technology, meaning links can be indexed in less than an hour.
Think of IndexInject as the ultimate hybrid between an indexing service and an indexing tool.
Unlike other indexing tools and services, IndexInject allows you to control the extent of link indexing.
You can limit the number of URLs you submit, customise your submission schedule and even monitor changes for updates to be indexed quickly.
Instant Link Indexer is a simplified indexing service.
Their unique point is “set and forget”. Upload your links and URLs that you want to be indexed and let Instant Link Indexer go to work. They index a range of content, from backlinks to blog comments and more.
Lindexed uses its own unique indexing process to get Google to take notice of your links.
The 5-step process works on 15-day cycles using popular indexing methods, including RSS feeds, sitemaps, and pinging. Linkexed also uses their own cloud-based pinging software to individually ping your links from servers worldwide.
Link Processor is a full-automated online link indexing service.
The big thing that makes Link Processor stand out from the rest is infrastructure. They have big servers located all over the world, which speeds up the time it takes to process and submit each of your links to search engines.
Omega Indexer is one of the most premium indexing services around.
They have a talented team of developers who have continued improving their services, even as Google’s algorithm has changed. They use safe and authoritative sources to index your links and the results speak for themselves.
OneHourIndexing is just what the name says.
They claim to be able to get backlinks and URLs indexed in as little as one hour. It’s a fully automated service where you simply copy and paste your backlinks into their backend tool, and OneHourIndexing will drip-feed them out.
Pinging is the most simplified, completely free backlink indexing tool available.
It is owned and developed by Small SEO Tools. You just paste in your backlinks, and the tool will ping each of them automatically. While pinging a link is just one method for link indexing, it is fast and free.
SpeedLinks VIP might be the most underrated backlink indexing service around.
They offer good value for money on all of their packages and have proven themselves to be effective at getting results. They also have a range of plans available to suit both small and large websites.
Now that you have an introduction to the different link indexing services…
What are the best backlink indexers overall?
Ultimately there were 3 tools that stood out:
These were the only services that triggered both a visit from Google and the actual indexing of the junk lorem ipsum pages we built.
NONE OF THE OTHER TESTED SERVICES TRIGGERED A SINGLE VISIT FROM GOOGLEBOT
Interestingly using Google’s own tools did trigger visits from Googlebot, but resulted in a 0% indexing rate. Perhaps if the pages were not junk lorem ipsum text they might have gotten indexed.
If you want to run your own indexing test you can download the script here.
All you have to do is:
We are not offering any support for this script so please take it as is and use it to conduct your own testing.
And don’t forget you can see all of the data from our test here.
If you’ve got any questions please leave a comment below and if you are fed up with fighting to get your links indexed, take a look at my recommend link building services or link building packages that only build the type of links that Google loves.

Hi Matthew,In short, OHI should be tested against similar services like instant link indexer and express indexer. The price ranges of these services are similar and the indexing rate is supposedly similar.
Ok, so…I’m a broke not so newbie that needs to make money tomorrow. I want to start promoting rankcracker….i have no site although I could set one up I know WP. pretty well and I have socrates theme and some seo tools. I don’t have spin rewriter or TBS…In my mind, I need one of them. I just purchased VideomakerFX… please help! what should i do tomorrow?
You should just read https://searchlogistics.com/blogging/how-to-start-blog-and-make-money/
Hi,I don’t disagree he does make good points, however no one has provided a constructive solution as of yet.How would you have gone about the test yourself? I have no problem with people saying what is wrong/what they don’t like – but I can’t improve and learn if that isn’t followed up with ‘what you should of done is…’
Then please conduct your own test and show us how to do it correctly & we can learn from that constructively.
Even though Damagex is on the edgy side of accusations, he does bring up a crucial point for the study.Similar services compared to OHI would definitely need to be included to not bias the testing; its common sense that OHI would take the cake vs services like lindexed or indexfication; the services are on a different levels. The testing of indexing services was a great idea, but the services that are being compared doesn’t measure what the test was intended to measure; in terms of legitimate data, the Test Validity would only appeal @ face validity but fail in construct, criterion, and formative validity; in other words, those who don’t know better would jump in on OHI. Anyways just my $0.02, I hope you have a good one MW
Hey matthew, your tipps really helped me alot! Well I have a very small budget atm… Do you think GSA Indexer is getting nearly same eesults as the monthly paid services? Cheers Hannes
I highly doubt it as it uses pinging/whois sites
I figured you wouldn’t. After all, you obviously can’t take criticism which questions your “authority”, gained by posting utter crap and calling it a case study. “I’m more than happy to share your own data/case study with the audience when it is ready and you find time to do it. You could have probably done it in the time you spent making comments here :)”Actually, I could’ve done much worse, but we don’t need to get into that. At the end of the day you’re nothing but a hack, who relies on making money by appealing to the sheep, ’cause you actually know fuck all about SEO and couldn’t cut it. Anyway, approve it or not, your call. But as you said you wouldn’t I fully expect that to happen. After all, you don’t want your sheep to see me making you my bitch, on your own site. 😀
Running a test like this isn’t rocket science. All you need are enough links, a few accounts, and some proxies to do index checking properly.I’ve run this type of test many times in rolling out the service, which was why I knew we’d destroy the competition. Since I’d run comparison tests already, I knew we’d win before we started, so it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
Ok well it is what it is, I can’t explain to you anymore than I have. Thank you for your feedback, opinion and contributing to the discussion. When you conduct your own test to backup your assumptions & opinion please let me know and I will be happy to share it here!
Your comment unsubscribe doesn’t seem to be working. I have received email notification on every single comment from the above “argument” (which is annoying), and unsubscribed from this post already, but still I keep getting email notifications on this.Clicking on the unsubscribe button again that is in the email, just tells me no active subscriptions.
Hi,The Wordpress comment system pushes comments into moderation which need to be approved before they appear. When that happens a cookie is dropped on your machine so that you can see the comment but if you come back later it might disappear.I have seen your second comment about the issue and I can’t seem to find a quick solution so I have disabled the plugin entirely because if it’s causing problems for you, it will be causing problems for other people as well.Sorry about that! You might get an email from a few comments I have just approved but you shouldn’t get one after this – if you do please contact me directly via https://searchlogistics.com/contact-me/sorry about the problems!
Mkay, finally found the link. So unless I somehow got the wrong report, you consider a list of URL’s like this to be proof?Again, my apologies if I got it wrong, but unless that’s not the report I should be looking at, I know you understand how ridiculous that proof is. After all, at the end of the day you’re no dummy. Full of shit, maybe, but definitely not stupid. 🙂
Please see my other comment, when you have your own data to backup your opinion please let me know. I won’t be approving any more wishy washy comments from yourself.I’m more than happy to share your own data/case study with the audience when it is ready and you find time to do it. You could have probably done it in the time you spent making comments here 🙂
I take it you missed the part where I pointed out that you provided fuck all for evidence. Sure, I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t read the article properly first time around. I took a second (and a third and a fourth) look, just to make sure. So unless I’m blind and obviously missing something important, my point stands. That being said, my questions stand. Where’s the evidence, where are the backlinks? Did you even create any backlinks to begin with?Show me the proof and I’ll have no problem eating humble pie, as I’ve already proven above. But unless you can do that, your case study isn’t worth wiping your ass with. Don’t even need to mention that you’d get kicked out of any related course, for using that “methodology”. But credit where credit is due, kudos for making so many morons believe you. 🙂
Not to be a dick, but what makes you think I haven’t already tried it? 🙂
I take it you didn’t read to the end of the post either
Confirmed! I kept trying to get a preview of the results and he wouldn’t share until the day before the post went live. 🙂
Hey DamageX -Happy to extend a free month for you to test out the service and see for yourself how well it works. I’d just ask that you follow a reasonable protocol – randomize the links going in, have a control group with no testing, and use index checking correctly. In our tests internally we ran a much larger sample size and had to use hundreds of proxies with a long delay to avoid ip blocks. Indexing has changed in the past few months and most people don’t realize it.
Hey Vince -You can actually look up there at the case study results. The ‘control’ has 11% indexing after two weeks. This means that Google DOESN’T index 90% of your links naturally. So this puts the nail in the coffin of ‘let Google find the links on its own’. It just doesn’t happen.
Actually I do know how commenting works on WP. I admit I jumped the gun on that one, so you have my apologies. No excuses, I fucked up. :)Back to the test though. Here’s the kicker, you provide ZERO proof of the test has even taken place. All we got to go on is your word. Which, at the end of the day, is worth fuck all. I know you take yourself very seriously, as do many people. But again, you provide zero proof. As for posting on forums, you do realize I wouldn’t point the links to your blog, but to a site of mine, right? You don’t actually think you’re the only one who knows how to capitalize on the stupidity of people, do you? Be careful what you wish for. 🙂
Hi,I take it you don’t understand how the Wordpress comment system works.Let me explain so you don’t hurt your feelings again. When you submit a comment it goes into moderation and I have to approve it.When this happen a cookie is dropped on your computer so that you can see the comment, but if you come back to the post later and/or clear your cookies you won’t see it until it has been approved. You waited 8 hours between your comments, and as I have just moved country – approving comments is the least of my prioritys. There was only 1 pinging service included in the test. If you do your research you will see that quite often the advice given to people to index their backlinks is pinging. Obviously me and yourself know that isn’t very effective and hasn’t been for years, but this is still sage advice on some forums like WarriorForum which is why it was included.when someone pays me to do a sponsored review what they are actually buying is my time to look at a service. They are not buying my opinion or a positive review.I am very clear about this-“Please be aware if your product/service performs poorly that will be reflected in the review without refund. My readers rely on my upfront, straight to the point transparency. Sponsored post or not this will remain true.”I get asked nearly daily to create sponsored reviews but when I explain the above to people, they don’t want to buy them anymore. Every time I have explained that to someone, I have cost myself $997 simply to protect the integrity of the blog.I could have easily cleared $50,000 in sponsored reviews the past 2 years if I wanted to, but thats not how I do business and anyone that has worked with me will know that I really don’t care about money so much (have a read of https://searchlogistics.com/blogging/how-to-start-blog-and-make-money/ to understand my mindset/approach with that better). In nearly 2 years only 1 company has believed in their own product enough to take me up on the sponsored review advertising option which speaks for itself. If they performed badly – that would be reflected in the review. I shared all of the case study data for people to verify that for themselves, and if thats not good enough – your welcome to conduct your own tests. If you have any suggestions for how I could approach that side of things better please let me know. I’m not sure how I can be any more transparent than that with case studies sponsored or not.Dixon Jones (Majestic SEO) also made bias accusations when I published this post https://searchlogistics.com/seo/tools/backlink-checkers/ (which was not a sponsored post). What he didn’t realize is that the people that came last in that case study had literally given me thousands and thousands of dollars worth of prizes for the readers weeks before. This led to a very awkward conversation with them and their CEO was forced to address the issue publicly with this response http://www.link-assistant.com/blog/backlink-checkers-compared-seo-spyglass-ahrefs-majestic-seo-seomoz-raven-tools/So while I understand your frustration – the truth is only myself, clients I have worked with & companies that have approached me for a sponsored review or tried to pay me to include them on my tools of the trade list will understand the sacrifices I make to protect the blog. The setup of this specific test was explained in the post. I made 1 GSA project with the worst possible links and the worst possible auto generated content, this project was cloned 1:1 for each service.Feel free to test the service for yourself and if it doesn’t perform I’m sure the OHI team will be happy to provide you a full refund. What would be even better is for you to repeat the test and publish the results yourself, if you can find the time of course.I hope you enjoy reading my other posts :)P.s. Please feel free to post anything you want about the blog on forums. Not only does this deliver more traffic it allows me to grow and learn further improving the blog, take a look at http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/670650-mathew-woodwards-dishonest-paid-reviews.html for example! Please please invest your time posting on as many IM forums as you can!
Hi,The reason 1 pinging service was included is because if you do your research, you will notice that some of the most common advice people get when they ask how to index their backlinks, is to ping them. Take a look around the warriorforum and you will see what I mean.
Hey Matty boy,It was not nice of you to delete my previous reply, it huwt my feewings. :DSo in order to prevent you from being that impolite again, I’ll be taking a screenshot of this reply. Hopefully my post will show up this time, in unaltered form. If it doesn’t, well… I’ll leave it up to you to guess how many IM forums that screenshot will be going up on. :)Anyway, on to the relevant facts. Your “case study”, if it can be called that. :)So, children, can we say “rigged”? What you did here is you compared apples to oranges. You set out to compare how different services help index your backlinks. So far, so good. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that your whole purpose with this was to have OHI come up as the winner. Or does it? Considering some of the comments below, it surely makes me wonder. For it to have been a somewhat objective study, you would’ve used similar INDEXING services. But what you did was you put up OHI against three PINGING services. All of which, AFAIK, don’t claim to INDEX your backlinks, only crawl them. Where’s Express Indexer? Where’s SEO Indexer? Where’s Instant Link Indexer? See where I’m going with this? Of course OHI will wipe the floor with pretty much any PINGING service, since it actually does index backlinks. But why not compare it with services doing the same, instead of those using outdated methods? So that’s that. Now about the amount and type of backlinks you claim to have used. Why not post these here AFTER the test was complete? It’s not like someone could taint the results, after all the study is already over. Hell, you could even take screenshots of what the indexing rate was, after you ran them through the respective services, just in case someone would wanna fuck with your results afterwards. All this assuming you actually tried indexing any links to begin with. :)It would also have been relevant mentioning which links you ran through which service. For all we know you only ran the purest of the pure backlinks through OHI and the shittiest XRumer profiles, posted on de-indexed forums, through the rest.So what’s your next trick gonna be? Will you be one-upping Charlie Floate by defeating Penguin 3, before it’s even rolled out? :DOverall, this “case study” is questionable, at best. I’ve ran better case studies in grade school. I don’t have time right now, but if I ever do I’ll take a look at the rest of your articles. Who knows how much fun I can have with those? ;)/DamageX
Now ain’t that a load of horseshit… Of course they won’t come last, since you pretty much rigged the “study”, if it can even called that.See, a PROPER case study would’ve compared OHI to other INDEXING services, not PINGING services. Look around, there’s plenty of those out there. Compare apples to apples, my self-crowned guru friend. But I’m sure you already knew this. ;)What’s your next trick gonna be? Are you gonna one-up Charlie Floate by beating Penguin 3 before it’s even released? :DYou’re a hack.
Someone needs an anti-depressant
Hi Matt, what you think about http://www.indexemperor.com/?Thanks
I haven’t used it personally
Hey Matt! That was really informative case study! Thanks! I will surely start to dig deeper and research a OneHourIndexing for myself.
No worrys!
Is it actually worth indexing the links though because it gives Google too much information. Surely it’s safer to let Google naturally find the links?
What if they dont find them?
Hi Matthew,Thanks for this detailed review. I would like to point out, that since you did a big tutorial on Rankwyz and GSA Search Enginer Ranker, you might want to consider including Express Indexer and Incredible Indexer. Mainly because these are the 2 indexing services that are supported in both, Rankwyz and GSA. For people like me who use both of those SEO tools, it would be handy to only have to sign up with one indexing service that can be used in both tools.Oh and also as asked by others, including GSA SEO indexer in your follow up test would also be nice, mainly because it’s a one time payment and made by the creators of GSA.In a nutshell, if you can add these services to the follow up test, that would be incredible:Express IndexerIncredible Indexer GSA SEO IndexerCheers,Kerill
I will take a look at these in the future thanks!
He is welcome to his opinion!
Dafuq.. why would you even let that guys rage comment on your blog lol. That’s so over the top.
Yes but we are talking about indexing backlinks rather than sites
Hi Matthew, Thanks for sharing this case study and i’ve subscribed on the service of OHI which seems great. I’ve been seing my links being indexed not even 24 hours lately.
Good stuff!
Hi Matt,What do you think about “TheIncredibleIndexer” so far i used only them and i can say it has really good indexing success rate, to not mention it can proceed up to 100k backlinks daily and as well price is like $25. Which beats other compettition. 😀
Nice tutorial , you are right I am getting traffic after indexification of my blog post
Good stuff!
Good to know thank you!
Possibly – but I know they dont use links
Does user or Google decide what to index ? New websites should wait a little bit to get their articles indexed no big deal. Whats the rush ?
We are talking about backlinks rather than sites
Hi MattI have a blog website, do I need to index every post I do? Also I read somewhere that one should index the website, being the main home page every month. Is that accurate, if not how often should one index it?
If its already indexed, its indexed. No need to worry 🙂
Exactly 😉
in follow up include instantlinkindexer.com and theincredibleindexer.com(i see good results for this service). you can use my account for testing incredible indexer just shoot me email and i will give you my login details to try this service. 🙂
Thanks for the offer but I’ll cover that dont worry 🙂
Thanks to your post and someones comment I found out about instantlinkindexer.com, the guys behind Indexification. They came to the market last year and are one of those like the onehourindexing services. Please include them, i just took a sub and must say it looks promising after just one day.
Next time!
Hi Matt,Please do a followup using:1) More links2) GSA Indexer3) Instant Link IndexerInclude the One Hour Indexer too. Thanks!
Hi,1) no need2) will do3) will doThanks
Great post and good stuff to increase your results online.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot for this review. Time to skip pingfarm.
Indeed ^^
Great content Matt. Looking forward to your findings regarding GSA indexer. Have a good one!
Thanks!
If you notice, Indexification is trending downward, I wonder what their indexing rate will be at the end of a month? If it drops another 10% (I assume as the backlinks they build are devalued by Google), it makes it a lot less cost effective. Will you do an update at the end of the month?
Probably not they had plenty of time and then some
Hi Matthew,Did you check your links on Bing to see what effect these services had? With Bing/Yahoo getting approximately 30% of Google’s USA traffic (and growing) and with Google’s constant updates making the SERPs very volatile, many marketers are now focusing on secondary sites for these search engines. However, getting links indexed in Bing is much more difficult than it is on Google. I would be interested to know if you found similar results for Bing/Yahoo.
The ROI in terms of time/cost for other search engines isn’t worth my attention at the moment sorry
Hey Matt, thanks for the cool study another winner.Do you drip feed your backlinks through the indexation service or do you submit in bulk?
Dripped over 3 days
Those guys at OneHourIndexing are smart mofo’s. Couple of years ago they figured out a way to game Yelp reviews with a service which autodripped positive reviews on seasoned accounts with IP centric control groups. Brilliant stuff. Matthew, this post was super helpful. Gave me a boner. And I leave satisfied.
If there is a will there is a way!
With great difficulty!
Great case study, very clear results. Now I know what do to for indexing. Thanks.
Hope it helps!
